Ebay meets Eating Out

This site, for now, is only available for two cities: Edinburgh and Glasgow. Seems like quite a unique combination of ideas! For a student population (or anyone looking to save a few pounds here and there), this would perhaps be a good way to go!

Essentially it looks like you can bid for meals at various restaurants...when I checked it out there was a 50 pound voucher to a really classy restaurant going for 25 quid! Other places offer a nice lunch for two for 14 pound, or dinner with drinks for 20 pound...probably a lot cheaper than going a la carte...

I wonder if anything like this has taken root in the States yet...? I know Ed (Dad) Schmidgall has saved LOADS on hotel rooms by using Priceline...this looks like the same concept except for restaurants.
