Edinburgh 6, Abertay 0

Though the score doesn't show it, this was our toughest match yet. The fog was so thick you could hardly see to the opposite side of the field. About halfway through the match the fog gave way to misty showers, by the end of it you wouldn't have been able to guess from our appearance if we were Rugby or Football players...(yes, there are women's Rugby teams at the Uni). Abertay was said to be our toughest rival...

There's this social quality about European football that I think is really great...it's called "hospitality". Basically, for every match, the home team arranges to provide the visiting team with food (sandwiches, chips, etc.) and drink after the game. At first I thought it was a bit strange that we would go and dine with the opposition right after a tough match, but I've come to really appreciate it. It's great bonding time for us as a team and also just a kind gesture to the opposition before their long bus ride home...

Anyway, good game today...now time to develop some websites!! :)

Mr. Kermit Eby would be proud there is a rugby team. By the way, he is the assistant varsity coach with Konrad this year. Great victory for Team Ed(inburgh) against a tough opponet. Hopefully your husband has good muddy laundry experience and good massage skills for those tired muscles. Great job Kate!

YeH! for Kate and the U of Edinburgh soccer team!! Keep racking up those wins and fun times of comradeship and hospitality. Hope you're still playing when we come for a visit. Don't want to spoil our record of getting to see you play in a university game. :)

ha ha! Thanks to all for the support! J, they've been playing me at left mid, actually...a position I haven't played since 4th grade. Nonetheless, Bri, I did score 2 goals last game...my left foot is getting better! :)

Wow, EB and Konrad coaching Varsity, huh? I would have thought Konrad would have outgrown that team a while ago...glad to hear EB isn't with the froshers anymore, he seems like he'd be a good coach...add some compassion to Konrad's "tough love" style... :)
